HORNDEAN HAND OUT 6 GOAL TRASHING

Cowes Sports entertained high flying Horndean at Westwood Park but struck by a lengthy injury and unavailability list meaning  quite a young and inexperienced side started the game against their in form opponents.

Team:

Edward Hatt, Conor White, Aiden White, Joseph White, Ewan Cranwell, Callum Chase, Morgan Perrin, Scott McFarlane, Jez Conway, James Wykes, Finley Phillips.
Subs: Dominic Sexton, Jacob Jarvis, Daniel Pearson, Aedan Coode, Joe McCormack g/k

It took just 3 minutes for the visitors to take control as SAM KESSACK nipped in ahead of Ed Hatt to poke home a right wing cross.
Cowes were forced into a change on the half-hour as Jez Conway limped off to be replaced by Jacob Jarvis and they held out until the 40th minute when MILES EVERETT scored a second, then on the stroke of half-time, TANATSWA KANJANDA stroked home to put his side in total control.
Cowes started the second half brightly and Ewan Cranwell saw a goal bound shot deflected just wide of the post, but while Horndean were down to 10 men with a sinbin offence SAM KESSACK latched on to a through ball to slide the ball past Ed Hatt for a 4th goal.
EWAN CRANWELL gave the 150+ crowd something to cheer about on the hour, when he converted a penalty to reduce the arrears and for a while, a comeback of sorts, looked a possibility as Scott McFarlane ran through, only to see his shot parried by the Horndean keeper.
With 10 minutes left, the visitors were awarded a penalty of their own, which was converted by SAM KESSACK to complete his hat-trick and then they scored a sixth goal, again from the penalty spot, by substitute CONNOR DUFFIN to confirm their superiority at the final whistle.
